If you are ever in the area of Newton Iowa you should try to find time to visit with Steve Bookout. He's retired but still holds nightly classes on building guns.

These are some pictures of my latest learning experience. The first picture is me and my good friend and mentor, Steve Bookout. The Picture are of us rifling a barrel the old way on a rifling machine Steve built. We rifled a 4 foot barrel in 4 hours and 20 minutes. That's a lot of pushing and pulling! Steve has a couple of books and a DVD out on rifling barrels and how to build your very own rifling machine.
We also found some time to work in the forge.
